Cabaret Night Soloists Audition

Choir hosted Cabaret Night soloist auditions from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at the choir room. Seven or eight soloists will be selected from the 20 applicants who tried out.

The applicants were separated into two groups, one for 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. and another for 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“I felt that [the other applicants] were really good and seemed like they all prepared really well. I feel like choir members are getting a lot better at singing, and it makes competition a lot more fierce,” senior Nick Widjaya said.

Each performer needed to prepare a song of his or her choice and ensure that a pianist was able to accompany their performance.

“This is my first year in choir, so it’s my first time singing in front of people and my first time auditioning. It’s exciting, but it’s also very nerve-wracking. I feel like I will eventually get used to it,” senior Makai Tordillo said.
