Dance team performs at Back to School Night

Dance team performed during Back to School Night Thursday, Aug. 24 in the gym.

After rehearsals during sixth period and after school, Dance showcased its first performance of the year, a lyrical piece to “To Love You More” by Celine Dion, to parent and peer spectators during Back to School Night.

“Our large lyrical dances have always been very hopeful and [there is] always a feeling of solidarity between the girls,” dance team captain senior Jaclyn Hu said. “The song fits pretty well with the concept of love and hope that ties the team together.”

New members experienced performing as a team in front of their parents and peers for the first time. For the seniors, however, this performance was their last Back to School Night performance.

“This is the first performance for Dance team 17-18, [and it is] very powerful and touching to the audience,” dancer junior Katherine Moreno said. “It always feels amazing being able to take the floor and perform alongside your teammates.”
