Preview: Choir and marching band to perform at Walnut Family Festival
Chamber Singers, The Blue Thunder Marching Band and Rhapsody in Blue will perform in the annual Walnut Family Festival Saturday, Oct. 10 at Suzanne Park.
Marching Band will be marching along Suzanne Road, performing a collection of pep tunes such as “Feel it Still” by Portugal. The Man and “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. Marching Band will be parading from 10–11 a.m.
“Each person has their own positions and movements,” clarinetist freshman Ryan Lee said. “It’s exciting to march while trying to keep everyone’s style consistent.”
Rhapsody in Blue will perform the pop songs “Second Hand Rose” by Barbra Streisand and “Bless the Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts. Chamber Singers and Rhapsody in Blue will be performing at Suzanne Park from 2–3 p.m.
“[We perform] to spread the word about [Rhapsody in Blue] and to interest [people] in joining choir.” Rhapsody in Blue senior Sarah Dela Cruz said. “I love to show people what we can do.”
