Preview: Dance gets ready for Winter Wishes Concert

Dance Team and Advanced Dance will be performing at the Winter Wish Dance Concert 7 p.m. Nov. 19-20 in the Performing Arts Center.

This year’s concert will include new elements such as an opening ugly sweater team dance and choreography organized by the students. The concert will feature dance styles such as jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theater, hip hop and tap.

“It’s kind of overwhelming always being in the audience while watching all these dances [perform on stage] and then finally making to the stage while being part of the dancers showcasing the concert,” freshman Chiara Lindsay said.

As the concert will feature its theme of holiday spirits, team members will incorporate their holiday wishes into their dances.

“[Audiences] should try to look forward to the message behind all our dances. All of our dances try to convey a message such as holiday cheer, happiness, something positive that they can look into,” sophomore Renee Hua said. “They then can take that, put it into their lives and enjoy it during the holiday season.”
