Treble Choir visits Suzanne Middle School

Treble Choir visited Suzanne Middle School’s choir Tuesday, Feb. 4 to prepare for its upcoming joint performance in Walnut’s Prelude to Spring concert.

Treble Choir and Suzanne Middle School’s choir began with warm-ups, then split into groups and practiced the songs they will be performing: “Jubilate Deo” by Dan Forrest and “A Million Dreams” by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Choir director Lisa Lopez assisted the Suzanne Middle School choir by adjusting its notes and overall tone.

“It was fun going back to middle school and seeing my old choir but also a little nostalgic,” Treble Choir freshman Ariana Orozco said. “Since [the Suzanne Middle School choir] was very concentrated, it made it easy to work with them.”

The Prelude to Spring concert will be on Wednesday, Feb. 12 and Thursday, Feb. 13 at the Walnut High School Performing Arts Center. All choirs will be performing, with Suzanne Middle School’s choir performing Wednesday, Feb. 12 and South Pointe Middle School’s choir performing Thursday, Feb. 13.

“I felt pretty good, and I’m proud of how they worked and [improved],” Treble Choir senior Sydney Chen said. “I can’t wait to see how we will perform on a stage with actual people.”
