Advanced Sports Medicine and Therapeutic Exercise and Rehabilitation seniors attend field trip
Advanced Sports Medicine and Therapeutic Exercise and Rehabilitation seniors visited the East San Gabriel Regional Occupational Program (ROP) Center on Tuesday, Nov. 28.
The field trip was intended to educate seniors about career options in the Sports Medicine and Health Care pathways. At the ROP center, advisers gave the students a tour of other ROP classes such as Criminal Justice, Health Sciences and Nursing. By taking an ROP class, students are eligible to complete a state test and receive certification to apply for a job in the pathway.
“I think this was pretty good because I got to learn about something I didn’t know. [The trip] gave me a new option, if I want a job really quickly. Usually a lot of these college programs require hours to participate. If you don’t have the money, this is a good option,” senior Austin Chau said.
