Guest speaker for American Cancer Society and UnitedMed

American Cancer Society (ACS) and UnitedMed invited attendance clerk Tamar Landin to share her experience fighting cancer Tuesday, Jan. 24 in the Multipurpose Room.

This collaborative event was planned to inform both clubs’ members about first-hand experience with cancer. ACS hoped Landin’s story helped its members understand the motivation behind their fundraising. UnitedMed, who had Landin share her background with the club two years ago, aimed to introduce a patient’s perspective on cancer to its newer members.

“It was a really nice experience because we got to learn more about [Landin’s] experiences,” ACS secretary and United Med cabinet member junior Tiffany Han said. “I hope she [informed] a lot of our members [about cancer] because there isn’t a definite cure for it yet, and it’s been a big problem. Cancer is something that no one should have to go through.”
