American Cancer Society introduces fundraising contest
American Cancer Society (ACS) is holding a fundraising contest that will run from November until the end of February to spread awareness of the fight against cancer.
The fundraiser asks for members to collect change in plastic bottles to donate to local cancer awareness associations such as Relay for Life. The member who fills the most bottles will be rewarded with a gift card. The club strives to encourage participation among members with its unique fundraising strategies.
“I know how hard it hits you when you have a family member who has been diagnosed with cancer, and it feels nice that you’re able to like give back to the community,” co-president senior Ankur Singh said. “Not only is donating your money important, but devoting your time to the cause is just as important, if not more.”
