Associated Student Body (ASB) hosts TEAcher Tuesday

ASB hosts TEAcher Tuesday to celebrate teachers on World Teachers’ day.

Associated Student Body (ASB) hosted TEAcher Tuesday in which students brought their favorite teacher their favorite drink for World Teachers’ Day Tuesday, Oct. 5.

ASB took this opportunity to thank teachers for the time they put in toward helping their students, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Teachers received beverages ranging from Starbucks drinks to small packets of tea.

“[Teachers] positively impact our lives and they truly do care for us,” ASB secretary and senior Kaitlyn Tran said. “It’s not every day that we have special events to celebrate them.”

The idea was derived from Suzanne Middle School teacher and leadership adviser Kristina Natividad, who was inspired by a video on Tiktok. The video included a teacher saying, “Forget #deviouslicks! Let’s get the kids to do #deviousSIPS where they bring their teacher their favorite drink!” It was a chance for something negative to turn into a positive.

“I think it’s a great way to give something back to the teachers after all their hard work,” freshman Lucas Eibert said. “Giving them stuff and giving them words of appreciation are all good ways for showing your respect and admiration for them.”
