Class of 2019 hosts Senior Sunrise
Class of 2019 Cabinet hosted the second annual Senior Sunrise Friday, Sept. 21 at the Kenn Gunn stadium.
At 6:15 a.m. students lined up along the track for donuts, cereal, milk, orange juice and Starbucks coffee.
“I think Senior Sunrise really connects [the] class. Seeing everyone spread out on the field and bleachers made it feel like we were all a part of something together,” senior Ivy Cabrera said.
Seniors were given the opportunity to write a letter to their future self to read at Senior Sunset during the end of the school year. Friends grouped together, shared blankets and listened to music while watching the sunrise. Students also took photos of each other in front of a large sunrise photo backdrop painted by the art committee within class cabinet.
“Despite some of our differences, Senior Sunrise was able to bring together the Class of 2019 for a single event,”Cabinet member senior Ernest Feng said. “It made everyone happy and sleepy, but there were definitely memories created. This event will start letting students appreciate the remaining moments they have in high school and to learn to cherish every memory.”
