Moulin Rouge Fundraiser
Leo Club and Interact Club will participate in Moulin Rouge, a charity dinner, on Saturday, April 25 at the STC Center in Rowland Heights. The purpose of this event is to raise money and awareness for End Polio Now, a campaign aimed at providing the visually impaired with guide dogs (Guide Dogs of the Desert).
“I am mostly looking forward to further bonding and fun with both Interact members and non-members from other schools,” Interact Club cabinet member sophomore Evan Sentoso said. “In essence, these types of events are what Interact is truly about: service and interaction.”
There will be performances from Diamond Bar’s Dance Team and orchestra, singers and magicians. There will also be a dessert bar and many interactive games and activities for the guests.
“The process for planning was rather simple this time with the support from Diamond Bar. I am really excited for the performances with other people and to see how much we can raise,” Leo Club president senior Sean Wang said. “I feel like we need to have more events like this to raise awareness for the blind.”
Although this event is mainly organized by Diamond Bar High School’s Leo Club and Interact Club, the main goal of Walnut High School’s involved clubs is to participate and encourage more people to attend.
“As partners of Interact, I still believe we owe a sense of gratitude to Diamond Bar and its officers for providing attendance to our [past] charity dinners,” Sentoso said. “So, we still feel a great responsibility to publicize their event to the fullest of our abilities and help them in any way possible.”
