New eSports club gains members

Over 200 members interested in gaming opportunities attended eSports’ first meeting Monday, Sept. 19.

The new club seeks to introduce members to potential university scholarships and increase competitiveness in the gaming field. It also aims to expose members to social experiences within the gaming community.

“[eSports] has been a point of interest for many years now and a widespread topic throughout the nation. It [will] only take a matter of time before it sweeps the nation,” social media director sophomore Bill Yen said. “We hope to create a community where many could call ‘home’ and bring a casual and friendly atmosphere that accepts all at Walnut.”
