NHS hosts annual Ice Skating Social

National Honor Society (NHS) hosted its annual Ice Skating Social Saturday, April 2 at the Anaheim Ice Rinks.

About 30 people attended the social, including officers, members and non-members.

“I roller skated way back then, but this is the first time I’ve tried ice skating. It’s interesting to learn a new thing and support a great cause at the same time,” junior Shaunak Shah said.

Unlike previous years, the social was moved to the Anaheim Rinks from Ontario Center Ice Arena due to smoother, cleaner ice and lower rates. Cheaper base prices allow the club to direct more of the raised funds towards organizations such as World Vision, which offers monetary support to children in third world countries.

“Although I’m not the best ice skater, I enjoy spending time with friends,” secretary junior Inez Zung said. “It’s a fun way for us to raise money while also allowing members and people outside of the club to socialize.”
