NHS organizes annual Knowledge Bowl

National Honor Society (NHS) coordinated its annual Knowledge Bowl Friday, April 10 in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR).

Participants, which included students and advisers alike, represented their respective clubs and were asked 100 questions that pertained to current events, science, math, history, geography and random trivia.

“Planning the Knowledge Bowl wasn’t too difficult. The bulk of it was coming up with interesting, out-of-the-blue questions that were fair game for high school students,” said cabinet member junior Katherine Hwang. “It was fun to see friend groups from all different clubs step up to the challenge of these questions that we dug up from the Internet.”

After tallying up the points, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Leo Club and Environmental Care Global Awareness (ECGA) placed first, second and third respectively.

“I believe [this event] is beneficial, since it gives clubs a chance to financially support themselves if they win. It also incorporates cooperation between the group members as they attempt to solve the questions,” said junior Sidney Chan.
