Operation Smile hosts private screening of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”

Operation Smile will be collaborating with the Southern California Leadership Council to host its first private movie screening of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” Friday, Dec. 15 at AMC Fullerton. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness and funds for the organization.

The club is working with other high schools in the region to provide members with a different experience in fundraising. All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the organization to pay for cleft lip and palate repair surgeries around the world.

“We wanted to find a new way to connect with the public,” co-president senior Kecy Sun said. “Pop culture is a great platform to use to expose more people to Operation Smile’s mission. We are hoping to increase involvement [in the club] by showing [students] that fundraising can be both fun and engaging.”
