Senior doughnut drive-thru
Senior grade level coordinators (GLCs) Sonia Nunez and Vivien Hoyos handed out Krispy Kreme doughnuts to seniors in the student parking lot Friday, Feb. 26 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
“It was fun to see some seniors come out with their parents to pick up a doughnut,” Nunez said. “I hope that people enjoyed it. It was like a little treat and it meant a lot to see those who could participate come through.”
Planning for the Senior Doughnut drive-thru started at the beginning of February. The idea came to fruition after discussing potential senior events with the senior GLCs from Diamond Bar High School. The GLCs distributed doughnuts and vinyl stickers to seniors. In the future, the administration, community club, the GLCs and ASB are hoping to host socially distanced senior events that students can participate in while adhering to health guidelines.
“Hopefully those who participated enjoyed it,” Nunez said. “We had leftover doughnuts that we ended up giving to underclassmen, and we also started distributing to the sports players that were coming on campus to practice. We would have loved to see more seniors, but we loved seeing those who [came].”
