The first registration window for the Dedicated to Learning online application for tuition classes began Monday, Feb. 22 and will end Friday, March 5 at 11:59 p.m.. The second registration window for tuition classes will be opened from Monday, March 22 at 6 p.m. to Friday, April 2 at 11:59 p.m.. The summer school application for non-tuition classes funded by Mount San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) opened from Thursday, Feb. 11 to Friday, Feb. 19.

The non-tuition classes offered through the Mt. SAC program are civics/economics (class of 2022 only), world history (class of 2024 only), music appreciation, fundamentals of art, computer aided drafting and design, entrepreneurship and geometry and algebra 2 for remediation only (must have a D or an F on a high school transcript).

“This year we know how to set up a virtual school, but now we have the possibility of having some small cohorts on campus. We have to figure out a dual model and be ready for all eventualities. I guess the ‘planning’ is to plan for many different scenarios and ‘what ifs,’” grade level coordinator Ken McDill said.

The course offerings for tuition classes include math, science, social science, visual performing arts, applied arts and electives. The tuition for a five-credit course is $425 and a 10-credit course is $625.

“Teachers and students have different feelings about being in person or remote. We have a remarkable staff who have been very innovative and have learned a lot over the past year. I think students will be in very good hands in all classes regardless of format,” McDill said. “We all wish to be back together as soon as possible and the district, county and state are working toward that end. We hope to see all of you back on campus sooner rather than later.”
