Thyroid cancer survivor shares with UnitedMed

UnitedMed invited guest speaker attendance clerk Tamar Landin on Nov. 24th to share her experience about having thyroid cancer.

Landin shared that she had her family as her support system during the time she had cancer; she also expressed the necessity of investigating into alternative options for treatment.

“My family [kept me strong]. Knowing what to look forward to and that I was going to do stuff with them, they took my mind away,” Landin said. “I really hope [the students] learn something. The one thing I really want to express to the kids is that we need to take control. Take control because no one else is going to do it. You are the one who has to seek out to get the best possible [treatment].”
