WVUSD school closure extended to May 5

Walnut Valley Unified School District (WVUSD) schools will be closed through Tuesday, May 5 to help contain the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to an email sent by WVUSD Superintendent Robert Taylor.

The closure, originally scheduled through Sunday, April 19, was extended following a directive from the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) requiring all schools in Los Angeles County to close through Tuesday, May 5. WVUSD schools are tentatively scheduled to resume normal operations on Wednesday, May 6 if deemed safe by the Public Health Department and LACOE.
To close the instructional gap, Walnut High School staff have compiled academic and social-emotional resources for students. Additional resources, including materials from other WVUSD schools, can be found at the WVUSD Learning Enrichment and Resource Network.
