Subtleties in taste at Bake Code

Located in the towering Focus Plaza, Bake Code is known for its laid-back ambience and unique bread flavors, such as Earl Grey tea. An open and free-flowing floor plan contributes to the bakery’s modernistic feel; the store is sectioned off into three parts: the self-serve bread station is on the left, the spacious seating area is on the right and the cashier and cakes are in the center. While the bakery itself is impressive, I cannot say the same for its breads and select drinks.

While the breads are soft in texture and freshly baked, most of the samples only have slight nuances between different types, and the toppings are not plentiful enough or diverse enough in flavor to make up for this.

One thing that I enjoyed was the use of bright, natural lighting throughout the space. Large windows, ceiling lights and an open floor plan allow for a tranquil atmosphere that high school students would appreciate while studying.

I opted for the classic Boba Milk Tea, which is disappointingly unremarkable in flavor. However, it is packaged nicely, and that’s always a good thing.

Because the area is so open, the seating spaces are limited. However, I do like that there is a seating area with couches as well as a dining or studying area.
