Hotties brings Nashville hot chicken to Chino Hills

Located in The Shoppes at Chino Hills, Hotties Fried Chicken is an upbeat restaurant that serves Nashville hot fried chicken, sides and soft drinks.

Walking into Hotties, I noticed a chicken with the letter “H” on it painted on the window, which I thought was a quirky feature. The restaurant seemed quite small with limited seating, making it unwelcoming at first. However, the music created a cool vibe. The black walls contrasted with the white tile backsplash behind the menu on the wall, offering a modern look. In addition, the light wood tables and glossy black stools created a laid back environment, despite the lack of space.

The menu offered a wide variety of different hot chicken combos, such as the leg and thigh combo, the three-piece combo which includes a leg, thigh and tender, the two slider combo and two tender combo, each including fries. The wide variety of spice levels makes Hotties more appealing to those craving fried chicken with or without the kick. The sides included hot shake fries, truffle mac and cheese and its signature slaw. I ordered the two tender combo at the spicy level, which includes two tenders and fries for $8.49, and truffle mac and cheese, which contains truffle oil, cheddar and sautéed mushrooms, for $4.49.

My food was served within 10 minutes in a white cardboard takeout container, which I felt was an adequate container, considering the style of food being served. The tenders were juicy and well-seasoned, and the fries were crispy and warm. The tenders were quite big and filling. I found the mac and cheese to be slightly expensive for its size; additionally, it was cold and bland. The fries were at the bottom of the box, and absorbed the spice from the chicken. This was a strategic way to serve the fries and was quite enjoyable. The chicken was spicy, yet still palatable.

Hotties is the perfect place to quickly pick up food. The employees were attentive, helping me create my order. I felt welcomed, and I enjoyed the modern atmosphere. I recommend Hotties for those looking for a quick and flavorful meal.
