Sweet treats for the Holidays
Peppermint Chocolate Cookie Cups
Ingredients
– Store-bought cookie dough
– Milk chocolate chips
– Candy canes
– Aluminum foil
To assemble the cookie cup easier, add baking weights (like marbles) to the inside of the cup to prevent it from rising in the oven. The process of coating the inside with chocolate was quick and adding crushed peppermint gave a twist. The flavors paired well together, and this treat is a cute way to add flair to a classic holiday dessert.
Step 1: Create a mini cup by molding aluminum foil around a small glass. Line the inside of the aluminum with cookie dough and bake for 14 minutes at 350 degrees or until edges brown lightly.
Step 2: Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave and coat the
inside of the cookie cups. Let it set, then dip the top of the cookie cup in the melted chocolate to form a layer around the top of the cup and sprinkle crushed candy cane on it.
Step 3: Fill the cookie cup up to three-quarters with milk or eggnog and serve.
Chocolate Pretzel Reindeer
Ingredients
– Mini pretzels
– Milk chocolate chips
– Mini chocolate chips
– White chocolate chips
– Chocolate truffle balls
– Red M&M’s
These treats took under five minutes to make. The melted chocolate made the reindeer simple to make while adding extra sweetness to the treat. Because of its simplicity, this treat would be fun to make with younger siblings.
Step 1: Melt 1/8 cup of milk chocolate chips, and use the melted chocolate to attach a chocolate truffle ball to a pretzel.
Step 2: Use the melted chocolate chips to attach two white chocolate chips upside down onto the truffle ball. Then, use the melted chocolate to attach two mini chocolate chips onto the white chocolate chips for the reindeer’s
eyes.
Step 3: Lastly, use the melted chocolate to attach a red M&M as the “nose” of your pretzel reindeer.
