Boys golf places second in Tri-match

Varsity boys golf placed second in a tri-match against Mater Dei High School and Mission Viejo High School Monday, March 27 at the San Joaquin Golf Course.

Mater Dei won with 189 strokes, Walnut came in second with 201, and Mission Viejo finished third with 234. The score consisted of freshman Bryan Yu’s 39, junior Adrian Edralin’s 40, sophomores Alrick Pan and Andy Zhou’s 40 each, freshman Tyler Nguyen’s 42 and sophomore Eric Han’s 44.

“Our team felt somewhat prepared, but at the same time, we knew that Mater Dei is a very good team that shoots low scores. However, we strive to work on our game, and we hope to improve,” Han said. “One thing we did well was our team spirit. We wished our teammates good luck before they teed off, and whenever we hit or putt, we think of what our teammates said, and that gives us motivation [to do well].”
