Preview: Branding Iron

Varsity football will play an away game against Diamond Bar on Friday, Sept. 2.

The Mustangs have been working since December to strengthen their offense and defense. 24 seniors graduated from Walnut last year, including quarterback Micah Maes, who had a total of 2,432 passing yards. The Brahmas lost 25 seniors, including the leading rusher and receivers.

The odds against us are really just ourselves: personal mistakes as well as not doing someone’s  job during the play,” defensive tackle junior Jarod Bell said. “The mindset for this game is pretty much to show everyone that Walnut has a better football team than the previous years. Our team’s strength is that we don’t give up, no matter how bad the score.”
