Spring season review
As the spring season concludes, here is an overview of how boys tennis, baseball, boys golf, softball and swim performed this year.
Varsity and junior varsity boys tennis accomplished an undefeated season in league with records of 10-0. Varsity boys tennis was also able to reach the second round in California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and finished their season with an overall record of 17-3.
With its new coach, Hank Sprinkle, varsity baseball completed its season 7-9 in league and 11-16 overall. Junior varsity baseball ended its season with records of 8-8 in league and 12-9 overall. Freshmen baseball was able to finish with an undefeated 15-0 overall record.
Varsity and junior varsity softball completed their season with league records of 0-10. Varsity softball concluded its season with an overall record of 7-17.
Varsity boys golf made history at the CIF Teams and Individuals Championship when freshman Ethan Cheng became the second golfer from WHS to place in the final round of the State Golf Championship. The team also won a second place trophy at the CIF Central Section Championships after junior Alrik Pan carded 66 during the tournament.
All levels of swim maintained 4-0 league records and lost no more than three meets throughout the season. Boys and girls varsity swimming also both placed fourth in the CIF finals and third and tenth respectively in the Mt. Sac Invitational.
