Varsity and JV volleyball lose first preseason game against Diamond Bar

Varsity and junior varsity volleyball lost their first preseason game against Diamond Bar on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Junior varsity lost in two sets (8-25, 21-25), and varsity lost in four sets (20-25, 16-25, 25-10, 15-25).

Both teams struggled early on in the games, but after recognizing their mistakes the players now understand what they have to do to prepare themselves and get better when the season begins.

“I think throughout the game we had our up and downs. We had moments where we were all pumped up, and we started doing good. And then we had moments where we just died down and did bad,” varsity captain and middle blocker senior Pauline Mendoza said. “We had many unforced errors in this game, and these mistakes cost us the game, but I know we can work on it and do better during season.”
