Varsity boys soccer hosts online workouts

Varsity boys soccer has been holding virtual workouts to stay in shape for the season restart March 2021. 

Since the first week of school, varsity boys soccer players have been participating in breakout room calls hosted by varsity boys soccer coach Nicholas Blackford, who gives the players specific high intensity workouts. The workouts include basic fundamental exercises such as pushups, crunches, jumping jacks and planks, each separated into five minute intervals with two minute breaks in between.

“My overall experience thus far in soccer is that it’s been more smooth sailing than I thought it would be; we are still incorporating a lot of training even when it’s online, so it’s been pretty well,” center midfielder senior Matthew Chung said. “Because it’s online, there’s obviously some disconnect between [my teammates and I], but still we can communicate with one another and converse. “It just has some limitations of course, but overall, it’s still pretty convenient with internet access and all that.”
