Varsity boys water polo falls to Costa Mesa

Varsity boys water polo fell short against Costa Mesa 9-11 in a non-league game Monday Oct. 17.

In the first quarter, Walnut scored two points while Costa Mesa led with three points. By the end of second quarter, the game was tied up with five points each for both teams, but Costa Mesa was able to gain three points, ending the third quarter 5-8. During the second half, Walnut scored four points and Costa Mesa with three points.

“I played it like any other game with a desire to compete and do my best. I feel the team also came in with that same mentality,” set guard senior Peter Harijanto said. “I think we need  to play like a whole team rather than a group of individuals.”
