Winter sports review

With the end of the winter season nearing, here is a summary of how basketball, soccer, wrestling and girls water polo performed this year.

Varsity girls basketball ended its season with 7-3 league and 16-10 overall records. It also defeated Burroughs 43-38 in the first round of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) playoffs. Its next game will be against Millikan for the second round.

Varsity boys basketball completed its season 8-2 in league and 22-7 overall, placing second in the Hacienda League. Boys Basketball will be playing against Laguna Beach for its first round CIF game.

After winning four out of five of its last games, varsity girls soccer finished its season 4-6 in league and 9-9-1 overall.

After losing its game against Diamond Bar 0-1, varsity boys soccer ended its season 1-8-1 in league and 4-13-4 overall.

Varsity boys wrestling won its fifth consecutive Hacienda League Championship title and remained undefeated throughout the season. It also sent 14 wrestlers to CIF Individuals.

For the fourth year in a row, varsity girls wrestling won the Hacienda League Championship.

After varsity girls water polo finished its season 3-3 in league and 10-7 overall, it won its second round in the CIF playoffs against Santa Ynez 4-3. It will be playing in the CIF quarterfinals against Buena Park.
