Wrestling prepares for season over Zoom

Walnut wrestling has not returned to on-campus practice due to COVID-19 and the sport’s close contact and indoor requirements.

The Walnut wrestling teams continue to have sixth period Zoom meetings, with at-home workouts assigned weekly. Wrestlers are continuing to get their physicals completed for a future return to in-person practice, in preparation for their season set to begin in March.

“It’s tough because our sport consists of hands on and indoors,” wrestling coach Cecil Sebastian said. “I’m hopeful that [the season will continue]. I’m hoping that things will start to open up by next year, then we can get going.”
