Varsity girls golf placed seventh in their preliminary California Interscholastic Federation (CIF)-SS Division One Team Championship match with 387 strokes on Nov. 4.
After qualifying for the first round of CIF, the Mustangs had 386 strokes at Temecula Creek Golf Club on Nov. 7. They claimed sixth place and were eliminated from CIF contention. Among the team, the best six players represented in the competition, including sophomore Katie Zhang and Vivi Yen, junior Kaylin Rhee, Jackie Li and Joanna Song and senior Chloe Cheng.
“We all did a good job and put in a lot of hard work. I love my team, and my favorite moment of [CIF] was personally seeing my improvement throughout the tournament,” Zhang said.
