Varsity girls basketball lost to Glendora 48-64 at home on Senior Night, Feb. 4.
The first quarter of the game started off slow for the Mustangs, as Glendora’s aggressive defense and smart passes spurred a 2-18 Walnut deficit. However, the Mustangs gradually scored with layups, concluding the first half 15-30. Starting the second half, both teams traded baskets back and forth. However, Glendora’s offense pushed through the Mustangs’ defense, ending the third quarter 32-50. The Mustangs’ energy picked up in the last quarter, but Glendora kept up their defense, ending the game with a final score of 48-64.
“I felt really good about [the game] because I know I tried my hardest, and I left everything that I know about basketball out on the court in my last and final game,” point guard senior Kameryn Perea-Saupan said. Ω
